St Patrick's Day

The school had an awards assembly on St. Patrick's Day.
You'll see plenty of green in these pictures!

This is Elias shaking Principal Durst's hand.
Elias received an award
for being "outstanding in all areas"
in his classroom.  (Yes, that does include citizenship)!

One of the parents in his class purchased
St. Patrick Day hats for the whole class.
They were cute.

Here he is with his classmates.

Here is Leah watching the awards assembly.

She received several awards. Her teacher told me,
"Leah is very selfish.
She has claimed all of the awards in my class.
She is tops at reading, writing, math, and citizenship.
However, since I believe in sharing,
I have asked Leah if she can share some
of her awards with other classmates.
 And Leah graciously said yes."

So, Leah only got three awards this time:
one for reading, one for attendance,
and she received the
Principal's Award--a medal of honor
for being outstanding in all areas.

Her buddy from church, Matthew Dalton,
was her counterpart in receiving the
Principal's Award.

After the assembly, I went with Elias' class
on a Leprechaun hunt.

We looked in the school garden.

and then marched to the office

some of the teacher's and office ladies had wild stories
to tell about seeing that little green leprechaun.
He even pinched one of them!

Finally, after no luck, we headed back to the classroom.
There we found that Mr. Leprechaun had
done some mischief just for us:
all the chairs were tipped over,
the trash had been dumped out,
and there was a trail of green glitter on the floor.
Then we found a message on the black board that said,
"Ha-Ha! Yo didn't catch me this year."
After that we got to eat some fun treats.

Here is Elias with his teach
Mr. Peterson, and several of his class mates.

Elias shows of his fun St. Patrick's day mobile.

Is he practicing to be a leprachaun?
Or is he practicing flirting already?!
