Wahooo! We got to play with the fireworks! What fun it was lighting them off. The noise, the light! The acrid smoke! The squeals of the children. Cool. I mean, hot! We found a pull-out down by the Mississippi and let the rockets rip. I loved trying each new kind. Some were so bright, we couldn't even look at them. Some spun, some spat, some dazzled with multiple hues. I could have stayed a lot longer, but we ran out after a while!

You are welcome to Utah any 4th of July for fireworks (or 24th of July or New Years). We are privileged to do them 3 days before and 3 days after. WE LOVE US SOME FIREWORKS!
Also, I have loved reading about your trip. I remember this trip in 2007 when we went and I LOVED it. I want to go back so bad. I came away with a much stronger testimony of Church History and all that they suffered. Glad it was a success for your family (and Wes).
I can't tell you how loud I laughed at your oxen story. You are such a good sport. I would have freaked out!
