One of our fun summer activities was building a tree house in Mimi and Papa's back yard.
Wes, Papa, Mimi and I all took part working on it together;
Mimi drilled some of the holes in the little slats while she sat inside.

Here Mckay climbs.  He is the first to test out the newly constructed fort.

One more big step and he's made it!
The tree house is up about 12 feet,
so we made it hard to climb up to on purpose
so really little people couldn't get in it.

Yeah! He made it.  He's living in the trees now!

Now Leah wants to climb up.

But when she sees the "big step" she has to take
from the limb into the fort, she quavers.
Then she skedaddles right out of the tree!

Ryanne climbs up to show Leah how it's done.

I was a little worried Elias wouldn't make it.
Yeah right! Stupid of me to doubt him.
He was like a squirrel, scampering up that limb
and popping into the fort like it was nothing!

"Come on Leah! You can do it!" They all holler.

Here she goes, second try.
As you can see, she is crying.

But once she realizes it's a piece of cake, she's all smiles.

ThenJordan joins the fun.

And Aunty Raroo has to check it out too!

"Thanks for letting us build a fort in your tree Papa!"
