A Hard Days Work

This story begins with my brother's blue Toyota Land Cruiser.  It looks like this one, except not so nice!

One day, Elias was in my parents yard playing with Jordan.  The adults were in the house and the boys had free reign of the yard.  Elias found a nice hammer in the yard.  He wanted to hit something with it . . . . yes, you can guess, can't you?  He went around the Land Cruiser and hit all the running lights--completely knocked them out.  And then he took a good swipe at the windshield--Crack!

It's one of those moments you wish, as a parent, you could curl up and die, because obviously, somewhere along the road, you have failed in your parenting! You're thinking, "How could my kid be sooo stupid?"  You really want to rip his head off, but you don't.

And that is why Elias is moving these bricks:
He owes my brother a lot of money and it is going to take him
the rest of his life to work it off!

I'm grateful it was my brother's jeep and not some strangers.
Still, it was humiliating.
My brother is so nice.
Thanks for letting Elias work for you, William!

Elias has to move this pile of bricks to the back yard
where they will be put to use as a pathway.

Oooh, bummer! I totally feel your pain. I have oh, so many of those crawl-under-a-rock-and-die-because-I've-failed-at-parenting moments! Maybe Ryker and Elias can go into business together one day and start a demolition company.
